The historic centre of Alberobello, with its famous trulli, is a World Heritage Site of the UNESCO. The city stands proudly right in the heart of the so-called Murgia dei Trulli, of which it is the symbol. Orange Flag for the Italian Touring Club. Here you can visit the ancient and original dry stone houses with a cone-shaped roof. There are over 1000 of them in the Rione Monti, the city’s oldest neighbourhood. Also not to be missed is the Rione of Aia Piccola, which houses both the local museum (Museo del Territorio) and the famous Trullo Sovrano. Alberobello is a symbol of the whole Apulia region, with its winding streets, ups and downs among the trulli and a fantastic panorama to be discovered and admired. You cannot absolutely miss the opportunity of paying it a visit if you are nearby.
